Common Industry Practices
The MBMA has developed a Common Industry Practices guidebook describing the typical relationships, expectations and responsibilities of the owner, contractor and metal building manufacturer on a construction project. It contains the following sections:
- Definitions
- Sale of a metal building system including changes in order documents
- Design of a metal building system including design responsibilities, end customer responsibilities and foundation design
- Manufacturers responsibility including engineering, approval drawings and fabrication drawings
- Materials and fabrication including welding, structural primer, inspection and loading
- Delivery and receipt
- Erection and other field work including tolerances
- Insurance
