Drink in These Amazing Metal Buildings in the Latest “Travels with Tony” Video
The Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA) just released the sixth video in its “Travels with Tony” series. This 2 minute and 58 second presentation brings Tony Bouquot, MBMA general manager, to two craft breweries in Texas that use metal building systems. Meanwhile Brewing Company in Austin and Vista Brewing in Driftwood each have two metal buildings housing their breweries and tasting areas. The video is available on MBMA’s YouTube channel, @MBMAMedia.
“Craft brewers need open space with a high degree of flexibility,” says Tony Bouquot of his visit to Central Texas. “These two breweries get that in cost-effective metal buildings. But they also get the ability to create exteriors that use local accents such as limestone and wood paneling that draw visitors in and give off the unique atmosphere of each location.”
Meanwhile Brewing Company, located on the southeast side of Austin, has a 14,500-square-foot brewing facility and a 3,400-square-foot taproom. The exterior façade of both buildings has Texas limestone as well as metal panels that have the high-tech industrial vibe that Austin is known for. In Driftwood, Vista Brewing Company also has two metal buildings, a 5,000-square-foot brewery adjacent to a 2,500-square-foot tasting room. These buildings include wood siding and dark brown metal panels for more of a rustic feel that fits into the Texas Hill Country southwest of Austin. “Both breweries are unique and want to highlight what makes them special in their own way,” adds Bouquot,” and metal buildings allow them to get what they want.”
Previous videos in this series include a visit to Starshine Texas, an events facility in Houston, Texas; a look at Bay Manufacturing’s headquarters and manufacturing buildings in Green Bay, Wisconsin; a tour of the Hardesty Center for Dance Education in Tulsa, Oklahoma, which showed off the Tulsa Ballet’s home; a visit to the USA BMX headquarters and track, also in Tulsa; and a short visit to a metal building manufacturer in New Zealand. In addition to “Travels with Tony,” there are more than 30 videos available for free viewing at MBMA’s YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/@MBMAMEDIA.
